Corbin girls win 50th District championship

The Corbin Lady Redhounds (18-11) defeated the Whitley County Lady Colonels (20-10) Thursday night at South Laurel High School to become champions of the 50th District. The Lady Hounds won by a final score of 79-65.

Both teams will now advance to the 13th Region tournamnt next week at The Arena in Corbin. Brackets for the girls and boys region tournaments will be decided at a coaches meeting this Sunday morning. The News Journal will have more details on that as it becomes available.
