Corbin Arena wins Appalachian Arts Entertainment Award for best venue
For the second time in three years, the Corbin Arena has been named the best place across 13 states to catch a live show.
The Corbin Arena was named the 2024 Best Large Music Venue (501 seats or greater) during the Appalachian Arts Entertainment Award’s ceremony Saturday at Prestonsburg’s Mountain Arts Center.
“It is truly an honor to be the 2024 recipients of the Appalachian Arts and Entertainment Award for Best Venue. We are immensely appreciative of the recognition we have received for the dedicated effort and hard work invested in the growth and development of the Arena over the past few years,” said Arena General Manager Kristina Balla.
In January, the Corbin Arena was named as one of three finalists for the award along with the Charleston Coliseum and The Burl.
The nominees had to be from the Appalachian region, which includes: Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
Arena staff were unable to make the awards ceremony Saturday as they were hosting a Ryan Upchurch concert that evening.
The Corbin Arena won the same award in 2022.
