Corbin-area’s Creativity on Display at Fall Market Day
Kentucky’s creativity and fall splendor will blend to create the perfect day out during the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen’s Fall Market Day in Berea on Saturday (Oct. 8). Four Corbin-area artists will be taking part in the event, including:
• Lori Shea Fuson – jewelry
• Brenda Fuson – photography
• Michaeljon Flores – woodwork
• Freddy Humfleet – pork rinds
Humfleet makes fresh pork rinds on site, a rarity at festivals these days.
This one-day event will feature the works of Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen members. Guild members must meet strict standards for quality before being accepted, so you can be sure you are getting the very best handcrafted creations Kentucky has to offer. There will be beautiful pottery, fine woodworking, inspiring paintings, practical and ornate baskets, stunning jewelry, and much more.
You know it’s never too early to pick up some great Christmas gifts.
The Guild has also invited a number of the area’s up and coming artists to show off their talents. In an exciting new partnership, several booths will feature members of the Sheltowee Artisans Guild based in Somerset. Additionally, the works of Berea Community High School’s art department will also be on display.
In all, there will be over 50 booths, entertainment, and plenty of fall décor to take in while enjoying a free day out with friends and family.
Whether you’re a fan of art, autumn, or both the day will feature something for everyone. Other activities for guests will include:
• A hands-on printmaking booth
• Face painting
• Demonstrations
• Tours of Berea College Student Crafts
• Booth awards for best fall theming
• Fresh kettle corn and pork rinds made on site
