Clay County woman charged with tampering with evidence in Knox Co. death investigation
A Clay County woman was arrested Sunday night in Knox County after deputies reportedly found her collecting clothing and other items from the scene of a death investigation in Gray.
Thirty-nine-year-old Renee Sizemore is charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting contraband
According to Sheriff Mike Smith, deputies had been called to a residence on Standard Ave. about 7 p.m. in response to a possible drug overdose involving 58-year-old Jeff Wayne Taylor.
When Deputy Claude Hudson arrived, he was told by Knox County EMS personnel that Taylor was dead and that there was a woman inside, later identified as Sizemore, who was collecting items inside the residence.
“Deputy Hudson observed the female as she was collecting clothing and other items,” Smith stated.
Taylor was arrested on the tampering and drug-related charges and taken to the Knox County Detention Center.
While she was being processed into the jail, jail personnel discovered marijuana hidden on her person, resulting in the contraband charge.
