Charles Lewis Collins
Charles Lewis Collins, 47, of the Fairview Community of Whitley County, passed away Saturday morning, September 15, 2018 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY after a long illness.
He was born on April 3, 1971 to the late Eugene Collins and Anna Mae (Fredericks) Collins in Jellico, TN.
He was the grandson of the late Lewis Collins and Mary Etta (Williams) Collins and the late Charles Fredericks and Mattie Beatrice (Siler) Fredericks.
He was a graduate of Jellico High School, Class of 1989. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He worked as a fence builder and contractor for many years before his illness. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a Kentucky Wildcat Basketball Fan.
Charles had a kind and compassionate spirit and was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his father and grandparents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Mark Collins, Gary Collins, and Donnie Ray Collins; and infant brother, James Michael Collins.
He is survived by his mother, Anna Mae (Fredericks) Collins, of the Fairview Community of Whitley County; sister, Renae (Collins) Stewart, and husband, Bill, of Powder Springs, GA; niece, Kimberly (Collins) Archer; nephews, Mark Stewart and Brian Collins; two special boys whom he loved as his own, Noah Mays and J. T. Fontana; special aunts, Sarah Fredericks, Ruth (Fredericks) Leach, and Charlotte (Fredericks) Bays; special uncle, Charles K. Fredericks and a host of special cousins and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 18, at 2 p.m. at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Wilson and brother Larry Bays officiating.
Musical selections were by Alice (Fredericks) Bowling.
Burial followed in the Lot Cemetery located on Lot-Mud Creek Road in Whitley County.
Pallbearers were Steve Christian, Bill Stewart, Elvis Lawson, Mike Lay, Michael Arnstadt and Harry Chitwood. Honorary pallbearers wereBrad Bowlin, Tony Bramlett, Robbie Collins, David Leach, Charles K. Fredericks and Brian Downs.
Cox & Son Funeral Home of Jellico was in charge of all arrangements.
