Changes coming to Corbin Main Street

The old Corbin Cellars location on Main Street will house Shep’s, a new sports bar and grill type restaurant.
Changes are coming to two Main Street restaurant locations in Corbin.
The former Corbin Cellars will be the site of a new sports pub, owned and operated by Brandon Shepherd, Mark Shepherd and Guy Jones.
Scott Hobbs, owner of The Dixie Grill, declined to go into specifics on his plans.
“Changes are coming to 208 South Main Street,” Hobbs said Tuesday morning.
Brandon Shepherd said the new sports pub will be called, “Shep’s.”
“I have been a patron of Corbin Cellars. They did a good job inside,” Brandon said. “The work they had done is what really attracted us to the location. We didn’t really have to do a whole lot.”
Brandon said as part of the renovations, vintage sports memorabilia will adorn the walls and televisions will be placed throughout. While the bar will remain in the back of the building, it will be bigger.
“Hockey, football, baseball, and soccer. We welcome people that enjoy all sports,” Brandon said.
“Corbin is really sports driven. We are really hoping to engage everyone,” he added.
Brandon said the menu will feature a variety of items including wings, pizza, burgers and appetizers.
“The pizzas will be a little bit bigger than a personal size,” Brandon said.
“We want to offer five or six different sauces with the wings.”
Drinks will include a variety of craft, draft and bottle beer.
Brandon said while the goal is to offer patrons an entertaining venue to enjoy their favorite sports, it will not be permitted to become rowdy.
“Our goal is to make this a family friendly atmosphere where you can bring your children and enjoy the game,” Brandon said.
Brandon said the hours have yet to be set, but the doors will opens at 11 a.m. every day except Wednesday, when it will be closed.
Closing times will vary depending on what games may be on television.
“If there is a game still going on and people are still there, we will stay open,” Brandon said.
Brandon said renovations are underway and the goal is to be open by mid to late November.
