Cassie Junis Prewitt

Cassie Junis Prewitt, 95, of Prewitt Bend Road, Williamsburg,  passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 at home.

She was born on August 12, 1921 in Whitley County, to the late Charlie Richardson and Sarah White. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Sarah Richardson; husband, Herman Charles Prewitt; son, Charles Herman Prewitt; brothers, Linville Richardson, Rannie Richardson, Paul Richardson, and Roy Richardson; sister, Betty Green; and two infant sisters. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.

She is survived by three children, Wayne Prewitt (wife Sharon) of Williamsburg, Phillip Prewitt (wife Janice) of Williamsburg, and Kathy Croley (husband Melvin) of Park City; nine grandchildren, Jeffery Prewitt, Sheila Sutton (Jerrod), Phillip Prewitt Jr. (Ann), Steven Prewitt (Amanda), Tim Prewitt (Kristen), Lorie Bunch (Doug), Melanie Reed (Jeff), Beth Maples (Josh), and Brian Croley (Lessa); 20 great grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Cox and Wilma Richardson of Williamsburg; two brothers, Lake Richardson and Bill Richardson of Williamsburg; Tracy Brooks and Mary West; many nieces and nephews; and host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 2, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Jones and Rev. Doyle Lester officiating. She was laid to rest in the Piney Grove Cemetery on Prewitt Bend. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
