Carolyn Sue Brewer Lawson Purdue was born September 21, 1941 in Allock, KY to the late Hagor and Grace (Kilburn) Brewer. She went to be with her Lord on January 7, 2017.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Lawson and sister, Gerry Brewer Reynolds.
She is survived by her daughters of Williamsburg, Carletta (John Vernon) Shupe, Cassandra (Chris) Shupe and Cynthia (Ronnie) Davis. sisters, Betty Back of Middletown, OH, Minnie Wentz of Middletown, OH, Margaret (Harold) Clark of Holly Springs, NC and Melissa (David) Combs of Middletown, OH; sisters-in-law, Becky Trent of Hamilton, OH and Wilma (Chaley) Howell of Hamilton, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Elias Abner of Richmond, Dylan Abner of Berea, Cheyenne Shupe of Williamsburg, Tate Shupe of Williamsburg, Natasha Shupe of Williamsburg, Ashley (Jay) Coyle of Pasadena, TX, Christopher (Kim) Shupe of Bedford, TX; threegrand daughters in love, Ashley Moore, Ashley Patterson, and Elissa Beglau; as well as six great grandchildren with two on the way.
She attended South Middletown Church of God, currently known as Mercy Point, while in Middletown, OH and Bethesda Church of God in Williamsburg. She loved to cook, crochet, garden, travel, and research genealogy.
Visitation was held Monday at Croley Funeral Home and will also be held at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home in Middletown, OH on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m., and the funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 12th at 12 noon with Rev. Jeff Marshall officiating the service. Brother Fred Gibson will speak as well. She will be laid to rest in Woodside Cemetery in Middletown, OH next to her late husband.
