Carl F. Keating

Carl F. Keating, 89, of Corbin passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at The Heritage in Corbin.

A native of Corbin, he was a son of the late James W. and Nannie Beatty Keating.

His wife Margaret “Babs” Metcalf Keating, brothers James William Keating and Hobart Keating, and a sister Agnes Rhodes also preceded him in death.

Carl worked as a clerk for the L&N/CSX Railroad and had been a Mason with the Hugh Harris Lodge #938 F&AM. He was extremely proud of his Celtic heritage and was an avid computer user. He had varied tastes in music and enjoyed playing pool. He was a member of 17th Street Christian Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Carla Elliott and husband Larry, and Jane Wages and husband Darrell; two grandchildren, Margaret “Maggie” Cox and her husband David, and Jordan Keating Wages and his wife Elizabeth; a great grandson Elliott Benjamin Cox; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 14 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Brother Randy Wickham officiating.

Interment was at Rest Haven Cemetery.
