Candace Proffitt and Philip Kuhl
In the presence of family and friends, Candace Proffitt and Philip Kuhl were joined in marriage on May 28, 2005. The ceremony took place in the Keen Johnson Ballroom on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky followed by dinner and a dance.
Candace is the daughter of Gary and Cinda Proffitt of Corbin, the granddaughter of Leafus Proffitt, Corbin, and Jack Dempsey and Margaret Blanton of Walton, Kentucky.
Philip is the son of Steven and Josephine Kuhl of Florence, Kentucky and the grandson of Dorothy Mae Kuhl of Mt. Olivet, Kentucky and Lin Tsen Wan of Taichung, Taiwan.
Candace is a 2000 graduate of Corbin High School and graduated cum laude in 2004 from EKU with a degree in Communication Disorders and American Sign Language minor.
Philip is a 2000 graduate of Boone County High School and graduated magna cum laude in 2004 from EKU with a degree in Biology and Chemistry minor. Philip was the placekicker and punter for EKU’s football team for four years.
The couple currently reside in Lexington where both are attending the University of Kentucky. Candace is completing her masters degree in Speech Language Pathology and Philip is attending dental school while pursuing a career in the National Football League.
Their wedding trip was to Punta Cana in the Caribbean.
