Busy Bee Homemakers delivers quilts and blankets to hospital for cancer, cardiac patients and newborns
The Busy Bees Homemakers Club held the regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 13 at the Women Helping Others Center on Cumberland Falls Highway.
Patsy Lawson presented the homemakers lesson on “Extending your Clothing budget with Simple Sewing Skills”.
President Carolyn Falin conducted the business meeting. Committees, hostesses and lesson presenters were selected for the 2017-2018 club year.
The Cultural Arts & Heritage Skills Planning Committee selected the next class project which will be holiday table runners using the Log Cabin pattern quilt block.
The first lesson will be October 6 at 10 a.m. at the WHO center.
The meeting closed with a delicious pot luck lunch. After the meeting, members delivered baby receiving blankets, quilted and fleece lap quilts and teddy bears to the Volunteer Director of Baptist Regional Hospital. The items will be distributed to children in surgery, newborns, cardiac patients and cancer patients.
