Burger Week: An event you can sink your teeth into
A week dedicated to the celebration of burgers has hit Main Street in Corbin. Monday was the opening day for Burger Week, a project initiated by The Corbin Tourism and Convention Commission in an effort to promote tourism in Downtown Corbin.
All week long, locals and visitors have the opportunity to sample a variety of burgers from the participating restaurants on Main Street. Burgers are only $5 each, making sampling very affordable.
“I think it’s going very well,” says the Corbin Tourism and Convention Commission’s Director Maggy Kriebel. “We use social media a lot, so I know there is a lot of excitement. One person has told me that the Dixie Queso Burger is out of this world.”
Kriebel stated the biggest challenge faced this week was that the restaurants on Main Street operate on a limited schedule. However, she is sure that, with the success of the week so far, it will become an annual event.
“We feel confident that it’s a win-win for tourists, locals, and restaurants alike,” said Kriebel.
Participating restaurants include Basil’s Italian Restaurant, Dixie Café, Seasons, The Wrigley Taproom, Corbin Cellars, and The Depot on Main, all of which have created their own unique burger to be featured this week.
Burger Week will continue on through this Friday, giving patrons ample opportunity to sample all the creations provided by the local restaurants.
