Bob Bailey
Bob Bailey, 82, of Shawnee Drive, Williamsburg, departed this life on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the Williamsburg Health and Rehab Center.
He was born on September 2, 1936 in Harlan, to the late Virgil and Mae (Sargent) Bailey.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dottie Smith and brothers, Bart and Joe Bailey.
Bob was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and co-owner of Bailey’s Country Store.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Deanna (Hobbs) Bailey of Williamsburg; daughter, Sherry Halcomb (John) of Corbin; two grandchildren, Seth and Sean Halcomb; sister, Sandra Lou Wood of Florida; brother, Ed Bailey (Kathryn) of Williamsburg; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
The funeral service was held Sunday, March 17, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E.L. Alder officiating.
Following the service he was laid to rest in the Whitley Memorial Gardens.
Military graveside honors were conducted by the American Legion Post #88 of Corbin.
John Halcomb, Seth Halcomb, Jimmy Creekmore, Brandon Creekmore, Byron Creekmore and Jonathon Yeary served as pallbearers.
