Blow Out Friday
Dayton at Lynn Camp; Knott County Central at Corbin and Williamsburg at Jenkins. I have been struggling which game to attend this week. The only one on paper that looks interesting is Dayton and Lynn Camp. The Green Devils come in 0-4, but they might be one of the best winless teams out there. I look for this to be a little more exciting.
With all the injuries the Campers have sustained this season, Dayton might give them a tough game. However, it seems coach David Mitchell’s team is very fundamental sound and he can pull runners out of his hat. First, Sidney Wagner was going to be the top ‘Cat, then after he was injured the load fell on the shoulders of Wesley Steele, a junior. He went down and freshman Dylan Napier got his chance.
Last week junior Tyrone Person said give me the ball and I will do the job. He did and ran for 5 touchdowns in leading the Wildcats past Clinton County. Now I realize Clinton County is no giant killer, but to score five touchdowns in one game, you have to have a little bit of talent.
I don’t feel good about this game, but I think the Wildcats will win in the end.
Knott Central at Corbin
This one will be a feast for the Redhounds. Ryan Fritts, Michael Campbel and Caleb Watkins should have an easy first-half. The question here is when will Coach Steve Jewell call off the dogs?
Williamsburg at Jenkins
Same as above. The Jackets will have fun running up the scoreboard…ding, ding, ding against the hapless Cavaliers. Junior quarterback Ryan Moses should be able to pick his targets for easy touchdowns. Ed Lawson might run for 300 yards, nah Coach Jerry Herron will not leave him in there that long.
