Billy J. Tharpe

Billy J. Tharpe, 80 years old, of Madison Heights, Michigan, formerly of Emlyn, KY died on July 19, 2021 in Warren, Michigan.
Bill was born on May 29, 1941 to Jess and Edith (Moses) Tharpe who preceded him in death. He leaves behind a wife of 56 years, Joann (Baird) Tharpe; brother, Charles and (Louise) Tharpe; sister, Marlene (Tharpe) Byrd.
He worked 30 years at the Power Plant of GM in Warren, and retired in 1995. He loved playing golf with his friends and had a great love for his animals. He belonged to the Masons, Shriners and Scottish Rites. He was a longtime member of the Free Will Baptist Chapel and loved singing for the Lord.
Funeral service was held on Friday, July 23 at the Edward Swanson Funeral Home in Madison Heights, Michigan with Pastor Steve Thrasher officiating, interment at Christian Memorial.
