Bessie Lou Perkins

Bessie Lou Perkins, age 78, of Williamsburg, Kentucky,departed this life on July 28, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on June 22, 1942, in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late Cecil Banks and Charlena Creech Fields. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Banks; sister, Wanda Little; grandson, James Fore; and granddaughter, Ashley Fore. She was a retired office clerk at Whitley County High School.

She is survived by her husband, Archie Perkins of Williamsburg; two children, Lesa Fore (Larry) and Stacy Perkins (Melissa) of Williamsburg; seven grandchildren, LeNisha Bennett, Jessica Smith, Natasha Woods, Bridget Carter, Donovan Perkins, Gabrielle Fore, and Mylee Fore; 15 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Tammy Walker of Williamsburg, Ruthie Geary (Cecil) of Beaver Dam, KY, Helen Ashby of Beaver Dam, KY and  Clara Hoskins (Gary) of Milford, Ohio; six brothers, Jim Fields (Ruth) of Beaver Dam, KY, Johnny Young (Sandra) of Beaver Dam, KY, Dennis Young (Bertie) of Beaver Dam, KY, Watson Fields (Lana) of Beaver Dam, KY, and Jerry Fields (Bettey) of Morgantown, KY and David Young (Freda) of Ocala, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, August 1, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jon Morris, Rev. Dorman Patrick and Rev. Jimmy Logan officiating.

Following the services, she was laid to rest in the Canada Town Cemetery.
