Bessie Lee Jewell
Bessie Lee Jewell born on January 9, 1929 in West Zeigler, Illinois. She was carried to the presence of her Lord from her Ava Maria Home in Memphis, TN on June 23, 2018.
There she joins her husband Woodrow Jewell. This great lady will be missed by those she left behind.
Bessie was the top hospital volunteer at the Corbin Baptist Hospital for more than 15 years earning many accolades for her endless volunteer hours and dedication. Because of her kindness to all whom she met at the hospital, especially the children, making sure she had pennies in her pocket for them to make wishes at the lobby fountain, the hospital honored her with a wishing well and plaque in the hospital lobby. She never failed to tell others about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and on many occasions prayed with the sick and hurting. She will be remembered for her unconditional love, wit and beautiful singing voice. Her children will rise up and call her blessed Proverbs 31:28
She is survived by her children William J. Young, West Liberty; Judy Lang (Dr. John Lang) of Memphis, TN; Vicky Booth (Kevin Booth), Corbin; Woodrow Jewell Jr. of Barbourville; her brother, Kenneth Endicott of Tampa FL; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
