Benny Matt Hamblin
Benny Matt Hamblin, 81, of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at his home.
He was born on August 11, 1937 in the Hamblintown Community of Claiborne County, TN to the late Ben Hamblin and Dorothy (Hackler) Hamblin.
His paternal grandparents were the late Matt Hamblin and Myrtle (Carroll) Hamblin. His maternal grandparents were the late Charles Hackler and Tressie (Neely) Hackler.
He was a member of Anthras Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his son, Benny Craig Hamblin; first wife, Billie June (Teague) Hamblin; second wife, Easter Janet (Moses) Hamblin; brothers, Bobby Charles Hamblin and Clarence “Bud” Hackler; aunt, Charlotte (Hackler) Sowder; brothers-in-law, Lamar Sturgil, Charles Huddleston, and Wayne Garland; nephew, Randy Hamblin; step-sons, Mike Moses and David Moses.
He is survived by his son, Stephen M. Hamblin, and wife, Misty, of Athens, TN; granddaughter, Stephanie Hamblin, of Athens, TN; grandsons, Nathan Craig Hamblin, and wife, Dodi Deanne, of Murfreesboro, TN, and Morgan Netzela, of La Follette, TN; great-grandsons, Sidney Hamblin, Bradley Campbell, and Jayce Mayse; great-granddaughters, Hannah Hamblin and Kylie Campbell; brothers, Vann Ed (Hector) Hamblin, and wife, Sylvia, of the Hamblintown Community; Larry Hamblin, and wife, Jan, of Ida, Michigan; sisters, Barbara (Hamblin) Sturgil, of Deale, Maryland, Kaye (Hamblin) Steele, of Indianhead, MD, Gayle (Hamblin) Huddleston, of Eagan, TN, Jean (Hamblin) Garland, of Swanton, Ohio; uncle, Van Hackler, and wife, Anna, of Toledo, OH; step-son, Steve Moses, and wife, Angela, of Toledo, OH; step-daughter, Melissa Newberry; step-grandson, Eric Moses, and fiancée, Shelby Pierce, all of Williamsburg, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
The funeral was held Monday, April 15, at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry King officiating.
The burial immediately followed in the Hamblin Cemetery in the Hamblintown Community of Claiborne County, TN.
Cox & Son Funeral Home of Jellico was in charge of all arrangements.
