Benny Craig Hamblin

Benny Craig Hamblin, 61, of Williams-burg, passed away Tuesday evening, February 12, 2019 at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.

He was born on February 9, 1958 in Jellico, TN to Benny Matt Hamblin and the late Billie June (Teague) Hamblin.

He was a member of Anthras Baptist Church. He served his country for 17 years in the United States Navy. He was a graduate of Jellico High School – Class of 1976.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ben Hamblin and Dorothy (Hackler) Hamblin; maternal grandparents, Bill Teague and Tennie (Marlow) Teague; paternal great-grandparents, Matt Hamblin and Myrtle (Carroll) Hamblin and Charles Hackler and Tressie (Neely) Hackler; maternal great-grandparents, Garrett Teague and Martha (Leach) Teague and Hogan Marlow and Martha (Jones) Marlow; uncles, Bobby Charles Hamblin, Charles Huddleston, Lamar Sturgil, Wayne Garland, Charles Hackler, Clarence (Bud) Hackler; great-aunt, Charlotte (Hackler) Sowder; first cousins, Randy Hamblin and Barton Siler; step-mother, Easter Janet Moses Hamblin; step-brothers, Mike Moses and David Moses.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his sons, Nathan Craig Hamblin, and wife, Dodi Deanne, of Murfreesboro, TN and Morgan Netzela, of La Follette, TN; brother, Steve Hamblin, of Athens, TN; grandson, Jayce Mayse; uncles, Vann Ed (Hector) Hamblin, and wife, Sylvia, of Clairfield, TN, Larry Hamblin, and wife, Jan, of Ida, MI, Curtis Teague, and wife, Geneva, of Duff, TN, Benny Teague, and wife, Jennifer, of La Follette, TN; aunts, Barbara (Hamblin) Sturgil, of Deale, MD, Kaye (Hamblin) Steele, of Indianhead, MD, Gayle (Hamblin) Huddleston, of Eagan, TN, Jean (Hamblin) Garland, of Swanton, OH, Ann (Teague) Siler Allen, of La Follette, TN, Johnnie (Teague) Lawson, and husband, Junior, of Sidney, OH; great-uncles, Van Hackler, and wife, Anna, of Toledo, OH; nephews, Robert Matthew Hamblin and Eric Moses and fiancée, Shelby Pierce; niece, Stephanie Hamblin; great-nephews, Sidney Hamblin and Bradley Campbell; great-nieces, Hannah Hamblin and Kylie Campbell; two special friends, Gail Petrey and Carolyn Peace and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

The funeral service was held Saturday, February 16, at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry King officiating.

The burial immediately followed in the Marlow Cemetery in the Roses Creek Community.

Military graveside honors provided by American Legion Honor Guard, Arlie Long Post # 154.

Cox & Son Funeral Home of Jellico was in charge of all arrangements.
