Baptist Health Corbin names interim president after departure of Anthony Powers

Anthony Powers
Baptist Health Corbin is saying “goodbye” to President Anthony Powers, and a new interim president has been appointed to fill his job duties for the foreseeable future.
A press release that was sent out by Baptist Health on Thursday morning announced the development, saying, “A seasoned administrator with nearly 40 years of hospital experience has been appointed interim president at Baptist Health Corbin, following the departure of Anthony Powers.”
“Powers’ last day at the hospital was Feb. 6. Matt Bailey will start work Feb. 12,” the release explained.
Patrick Falvey, chief operating officer for Baptist Health, was quoted in the release, saying, “We thank Anthony for his contributions to Baptist Health Corbin during his 25-year career at the hospital. We wish him well as he pursues other opportunities.”
No other details of Powers’ departure have thus far been given. He has served as president of BHC since the fall of 2018.
According to Thursday’s release, Bailey has previous administrative leadership experience at Baptist Health Paducah and Baptist Health Floyd.
“We know Matt Bailey will keep Baptist Health Corbin operating smoothly as the board of directors and I begin the search for a new leader,” Falvey added.
The search for a permanent successor is now underway.
