Arizona Carter Fox
Arizona Carter Fox, 70, of Hubbs Hollow Road, Rockholds, departed this life on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville.
She was born on January 29, 1947 in Knox County, to the late Ralph Carter and Litha Hill Carter.
She loved to play music and sing, she is singing in Heaven’s choir now.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Gregory Jack Lawson and David Lawson; three great-grandchildren, Gregory Shawn Lawson, Lashanna Michelle Hale and Baby Wagnor; two great-great grandchildren, Ava Nicole and Baby Wagers; daughter-in-law, Sheila Powell and her special friends, Hazel Hale, Faye Cheek, Louetta Hamblin and Sylvia Chambers.
She is survived by her five children, Sherry Hale (Darrell) of London, Shannon Fox Hamblin (Cecil) of Williamsburg, Herschel Lawson of Rockholds, Robin Lawson Fox (David Wagner) of Barbourville and Garrett Eugene Lawson (Lynn) of Corbin; three brothers, Archie Carter (Jackie) of Rockholds, James Carter of Rockholds and Larry Cooper (Barbara) of Tennessee; father of her children, Henry Fox of Williamsburg; nine grandchildren, Allan Hill, Trey Harp, Darrell Hale Jr., Felix Hale, Precious-Faith Hale, Raven Harp, Alexandria Harp, Jessica Wagers and Christy Mills; twelve great-grandchildren, Jayce Hill, Conner Hale, Eli Hale, Blake Krossber, T- Matt Hale, Liam Mills, Cage Mills, Cheyene Hale, Ashlee Hale, Makyla Wagers, Aaliyah Hale and Jasmine Hale; special friends, James Cornelius, Clabourne Williams, Dale Shores and Wanda Gross; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
The funeral service was held Sunday, April 2, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Columbus Hensley and Rev. David Lawson officiating.
She was laid to rest in the Taylor Cemetery on Blackwater Road, in London. Allan Hill, Darrell Hale Jr., Felix Hale, Gordon Freshour, James Allan Carter, Steve Carter and Russell Carter served as pallbearers.
