Answering the question ‘Where can I get a paper?’
“Where do you guys sell the paper at?” Surprisingly, this is a question that I get asked fairly frequently…
The quick answer is, “pretty much all over Corbin and Williamsburg,” but this week I thought I would take the time to be specific, and let everyone know exactly where to look.
First of all, let me just say that the simplest (and most cost effective) method for picking up the News Journal would be to take advantage of our ongoing Festival Subscription Special, which will continue through the end of Old Fashioned Trading Days in Williamsburg next week. You can get physical copies delivered to your mailbox, and enjoy full access to all digital content, for 20 percent off the normal price. You can even double up on that, and enjoy the savings for two full years. Call or come by today to learn more.
If you simply like picking up your paper each week, well, there’s nothing wrong with that either. Here’s where to go…
I would suggest checking with your local Dollar General store, as we leave papers at several locations in the area each week. Those locations include:
• Master Street in Corbin
• Woodbine
• Rockhold
• In Williamsburg, next door to Michael Howard’s State Farm office
• Pleasant View
• Jellico, TN
• Goldbug
• Bee Creek
• Oak Grove
• Cumberland Falls Hwy (next to Sav-A-Lot)
• Gray (Knox Co.)
• At the intersection of 312 and 770 in Laurel Co.
If you don’t frequent Dollar General, then chances are you go to Wal-Mart in Corbin and/or Williamsburg at least semi-regularly. We have inside racks at both of these locations, up near the self checkouts.
Do you prefer to do your grocery shopping at Kroger? If so, we are inside both Corbin locations, with racks being found near the customer service areas.
If you are in Williamsburg or Jellico, then you likely use either Sav-A-Lot or IGA to do your grocery shopping. We leave a lot of papers at the local IGA store every Wednesday, and we also can be found inside Sav-A-Lot in both towns.
If you stop to get gas or grab a snack at a local convenience store, chances are good that you will be able to grab a copy of our paper as well. Currently, we are inside a total of 18 stores between Corbin, Williamsburg and Jellico.
You can also find News Journals in several pharmacies in the Williamsburg/Jellico area, including:
• Rickett Pharmacy
• Maiden Drug
• Windham Drug (Williamsburg and Jellico)
• Jellico Drug
Finally, we have plenty of coin boxes out there on the streets. Right now, there are a total of 20 in use, with three in downtown Corbin, two in downtown Williamsburg, and 15 others that are spread out all over Whitley County, western Knox County, and southern Laurel County.
If you are in the Knox County portion of Corbin, then I would suggest heading over to the Trademart Center. You should be able to grab a News Journal at the Sav-A-Lot location there, inside the nearby Walgreen’s, or out of the coin box that can be found near the center of the parking lot. If none of those work out for some reason, check Mega Mart, which is just a hop, skip, and jump away on Master Street.
Woodbine and/or Rockhold residents can go to either Friendly Market or Eaton’s on Hwy. 26 in addition to the previously mentioned Dollar General locations.
Folks in Emlyn can stop in at Jones’ Pit Stop if you don’t want to make the trek to either Williamsburg or Pleasant View.
For anyone who has been wondering where the best place is to go grab your copy of the paper each week, I hope this was helpful. Thanks for your interest, and be sure to let us know if you run into any issues out there!
