Announcing Mr. and Mrs. Spanjer

 Brenda Rae Favorite and Michael Vreeland Spanjer were married at the Williamsburg First United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 6, 2009. Rev. Mike Albertson and Dr. Bob Dunston officiated the ceremony. Lisa Bowman, friend of the bride, served as the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Tracy Roberts and Diane Lesley, sisters of the bride, Genevieve Wright, sister of the groom, and Dulcinea Lesley, niece of the bride. Tim Spanjer, brother of the groom, served as the best man. Groomsmen were Alex Spanjer and Andrew Spanjer, brothers of the groom, Kerry Bush, friend of the groom, and Joey Neff, nephew of the bride. The ushers were Kevin Favorite, brother of the bride, and Jarrad Wright, brother-in-law of the groom. Michelle Favorite, niece of the bride, served as the flower girl, and Nicolas Lesley, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer. Cody and Cory Rowe, cousins of the bride, passed out programs, and their mother, Whitney Kay Rowe, attended the guest book.

The bride wore a strapless satin A-line dress with beaded lace appliqué detail and chapel train. She carried a bouquet of white lilies and blue hydrangea tied with blue ribbon. The reception took place after the ceremony at the Christian Life Center of First Baptist Church. It was catered by Oral Lewis. Photography was done by Tim Helton. Flowers were prepared by Merry’s Flowers. Sweet Creations of London designed the cakes.

The bride, Brenda Spanjer, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry and Cindy Favorite of Pleasant Hill, Ohio. She graduated from Newton Local Schools in Ohio and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Cumberlands. The groom, Michael Spanjer, is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Richard and Patricia Spanjer of Dalton, Ga. He graduated from Dalton High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. Michael is an engineer at Firestone Industrial Products. After a honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, the couple resides in Williamsburg, Ky.
