Alvis Shirl Adkins

Alvis Shirl Adkins, 61, of Newcomb, TN passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Jellico, TN.  He was born September 25, 1954 in Whitley County.

He was preceded in death by father, Shirl Adkins; mother, Annie Adkins McKeehan; sister, Edna Ruth Adkins; uncles, Charlie Hurst, Clarence Hurst, Lawrence Hurst.

He is survived by brothers, Roy “Frog” Adkins and wife May, George Smith, Jr., Donald McKeehan and wife Jenny, Michael McKeehan and wife Teresa; sisters, Wanda Yancey, Debbie Sands; nephew, Roy Monroe Adkins, Jr.; aunt, Trula Rose; uncle, Finley Hurst; and a host of nieces, nephews, half brothers,  friends and family to mourn his passing

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 13, at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Yancey officiating.

Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, in the Adkins-McKeehan Family Cemetery in Newcomb.
