Almeda Jones Powers

Almeda Jones Powers, 86, of Dayton, OH and formerly of Williamsburg departed this life on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Saint Joseph of Berea in Berea.

She was born on October 9, 1930 in Williamsburg, to the late Robert “Bob” Jones Sr. and Mary (Parker) Jones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Powers.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Russell Powers, and spouse Linda of Chelsea, AL; daughter, Deborah Ann Allen, and spouse John of Richmond; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Gady of Burlington, NC; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

The funeral service was held Saturday, January 14, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Wright officiating.

She was laid to rest in the Whitley Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
