Whitley County High School senior Alicyn Croley signed her letter of intent on March 24 to play for Transylvania University next season.
Croley started playing volleyball in the fifth grade. She was a three year starter on the high school volleyball team. Last season, she had 200 digs, 50 blocks, 149 kills, and 19 service aces her senior year.
“When I say this one goes 100 percent, 110 percent all the time, she does no matter what the circumstances,” said WCHS Volleyball Coach Neysa Countryman.
“I will never forget a match where she rolled her ankle for probably the third or fourth time and refused to come out … It was because she had the tenacity in that moment and the adrenaline was still pumping that she was able to go back and serve several more balls before we had to pull her out for pretty much the rest of the match. I just think that speaks a lot to her character and what she is willing to put forth each and every day.”
