Alice Maxine Monday
Alice Maxine Monday, born on December 2, 1956, in Jellico, TN passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024.
Alice, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, leaves a void that will be filled by the memories and love she left behind.
Alice, fondly known as “Mama Alice” to her 12 grandchildren, Raymond Murray II, Wayland Murray, Max Murray, Ashley Murray, Victoria Murray, Michael Berry II, Jordan Davis, Ninea Lunsford, Marcus Lunsford, Precious O’Conner, Krista Carter, Chase Carter; and four great-grandchildren, Anna Rose Murray, Harley Murray, Miley Murray, Willow O’Connor, was the epitome of love, grace, and wisdom.
She illuminated the lives of her daughters, Anna Davis, Janet Berry, and Joyce Lunsford, with her infectious laughter and warm hugs. She was a guiding light for her son-in-laws, Darrell and Marcus, and a pillar of strength for her siblings, Mary Moses and Marion Goley. Her tremendous strength and unwavering love were a beacon of light for her special niece, Olivia Brockman, and a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends, who will continue to carry her legacy in their hearts.
Alice was a woman of substance who was defined not by her circumstances but by her indomitable spirit and love for her family. Her soul was a beautiful melody that played the symphony of life with grace and harmony.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl Monday; her son, Joe Jr.; her grandson, Matthew Berry; and her special friend, Virgil Carter.
Her parents, Clarence and Myrtle Goley, were waiting to welcome her into eternal peace.
Alice made everyone feel loved and cherished. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the life of a woman who was so much more than the sum of her days on this earth.
In remembrance of Alice, we invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page. Your contributions will serve as a comforting reminder of the love and joy Alice brought to all our lives.
