Teens captured after afternoon break-in at Corbin barbershop
Two teens were taken into custody by police last Thursday after allegedly breaking in to a downtown Corbin business in broad daylight.
Tim Lowe, owner of the City Barbershop on Main Street, said he was working a usual day when he heard "all kinds off commotion" in an unused, upstairs portion of his business. Police were called. The incident happened around 4:30 p.m.
“I was cutting hair and we kept hearing noises coming from up there. The customers could hear it too,” Lowe said.
"They had broken into a back window and gotten in up there," Lowe added. "I don’t know what they were after. I guess they were just looking to take whatever they could find."
Lowe said there was little that could easily be taken from the upstairs storage space.
“There’s some furniture stored up there, but nothing you could just run off with. You’d need a truck to get it.”
The boys ran out of the building the way they came in to avoid police, but were captured by officers a short distance away, according to witnesses, and arrested.
Lowe said the boys were 15 and 16-years-old respectively.
