Octoberfest, Cruise-In set for this Saturday in Corbin
This Saturday, Oct. 14, downtown Corbin will be full of activity as the Annual Octoberfest Festival and the final Cumberland Valley Cruise-In of the 2023 season will take place on Main Street between 10 a.m. -5 p.m.
“We could see double the participation from last year’s festival,” Corbin Tourism Director Maggy Monhollen said, considering the fact that this year’s Octoberfest will be held in conjunction with the final Cruise-In event of the year.
“There will be about 60 vendors there selling everything from food, to crafts, to a wide variety of other items,” Monhollen said. “In NIBROC Park, we will have pumpkin painting and face painting. There will also be hay rides from noon – 4 p.m., and a petting zoo will be set up in Sander’s Park.”
In addition to these activities, Monhollen said there will also be inflatables for children, and she is hopeful of being able to set those up inside the Hometown Bank Farmer’s Market Pavilion so that visitors can get an up-close-and-personal look at the new facility.
Both Octoberfest and the Cumberland Valley Cruise-In will be free to attend. Monhollen said that Main Street will be closed from 7th Street to Gordon Hill beginning at 7 a.m. on the morning of Oct. 14. The Cruise-In will take place between 7th and 2nd Streets, while all festival activities will take place between 2nd Street and Gordon Hill.
