Aug. 10 NIBROC performance will serve as homecoming for Tim Gore of Tim & Taylor
Tim and Taylor Gore, who go by the stage name of Tim & Taylor, are excited to be a part of this year’s musical lineup at the Annual NIBROC Festival in downtown Corbin. There is an added level of excitement for Tim personally, though, as he is a proud native of Corbin, graduating from Corbin High School in 2002.
“I am Corbin through-and-through,” said Gore. “I grew up in Tattersall, and played basketball for Mike Deaton in high school. I went fishing at Laurel Lake with my dad. My mom worked at Baptist Regional Medical Center. We were members of First Baptist Church. My goals in country music probably started around the time that I saw the Kentucky Headhunters play at NIBROC, so it really means a lot to get to come home, and for people to see what we’ve been working on.”
Tim said he got his start in music by taking guitar lessons at Gibson’s Music in downtown Corbin. Some of his first performances took place at the Austin City Saloon in Lexington, and in 2008 he moved to Nashville in hopes of taking his career to the next level.
It was here that he met Taylor, who was originally from Oregon.
“We met in 2014,” Taylor explained. “We sort of bonded over our taste in music, and we’ve been playing together ever since. We never really planned it that way, but it just sort of happened naturally.”
Tim and Taylor tied the knot in 2021.
“We are a true county music act,” said Tim when asked to describe what concert-goers can expect when they take the stage.
“It will be a lively, exciting show,” Taylor added.
Anyone wishing to check out Tim & Taylor to see what they’re all about before they appear live at NIBROC can visit them online at www.timandtaylor.com. Here, visitors will find information about their music, where they’ve been, and where they’re going.
“We are shooting for the stars,” Taylor said when asked about hopes for the future.
“We are grateful that our music has taken us all around the country, but we want to do a headline tour one day. We have been really blessed so far, but we also don’t ever want to put a cap on what we can accomplish together.”
“It’s been a rollercoaster,” Tim said of the journey so far for he and his wife. “I do get back home some, but we’ve never performed there. When I first took off for Nashville, coming back to play NIBROC was definitely a goal of mine.”
Tim & Taylor will be releasing a new single soon, titled “Whatcha Say We Don’t.”
The song is about dealing with hardships in a relationship, and not giving up on each other. Taylor describes it as a “hopeful love anthem,” and said that she and Tim are looking forward to playing it on stage together at the 2023 NIBROC Festival, which will kick off Wed., Aug. 9 in downtown Corbin.
