W’burg woman charged in stabbing

Forty-five-year-old Teresa L. Fisher has been charged with first-degree assault stemming from the incident at a residence on Ova Lane.
According to Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell, 54-year-old Steve Rose was initially taken to Baptist Health Corbin and then airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
According to officials at UK, Rose was discharged from the hospital Thursday.
Rose was brought in to the emergency room about 3 a.m. Wednesday with cuts to his hands and neck. Rose told deputies that Fisher had attacked him with a baseball bat and then stabbed him.
“It was just an argument. There is no telling what it was about,” Harrell said when asked what may have led to things getting physical.
Following an investigation, deputies secured an arrest warrant for Fisher. Sergeant Kirk Mays located Fisher at the residence about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and took her into custody on the warrant. In addition, Mays served Fisher with two outstanding warrants on charges of contempt of court and failure to appear.
Harrell said investigators are still working to determine whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
Fisher is being held without bond in the Whitley County Detention Center.
Harrell noted this is the second stabbing incident Whitley County deputies have been called to investigate this week.
"Don’t let temporary emotions overrule your common sense and cause you permanent problems," Harrell advised.
Around 5:30 p.m. Sunday November 23, 2014, deputies responded to a residence along Hwy 904 near the Gatliff community. At that location, a caller advised Whitley County E911 that a man was stabbed during an altercation.
While law enforcement responded, it was reported that the victim had been stabbed in his abdomen. Also, witnesses identified the stabber and provided information about where he might’ve fled to.
Lieutenant-Detective Tim Baker and Sergeant Kirk Mays secured the scene so EMS could enter. They interviewed witnesses while the victim, Justin Noble, 30, of the Nevisdale community, was transported by Whitley Co. EMS to the Williamsburg-Whitley Co. Airport. From there, he was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Det. Baker and Sgt. Mays located the suspect, Scott Powers, 51, at the Hwy 904 residence of his family. He was taken to the sheriff’s department for questioning and admitted to injuring Noble.
After questioning, Powers was lodged in the Whitley Co. Detention Center. Det. Baker charged him with first-degree assault.
As of November 24, hospital staff reported that Noble’s medical condition had improved from "critical" to "stable." This investigation is continuing.
Kentucky State Trooper Scott Bunch assisted in the investigation.

Yeah Renee thats Teresa at her finest. She has done drugs and drank her whole life, she even traffics them but she claims to have insiders at police department who allows her to break the law and abuse all her children. She has what many say’s as many as 9 girls the oldest I think is 39 if I recall.. All the girls have either been adopted or raised by thier dad’s and there is 2 living with family. She has abused all the children and stole from everyone she comes into contact with. Seems like her immediate family and other sisters have protected her for years. My Momma used to say If your going to dance with the fiddler, your going to have to pay…Now I guess she’s going to have to pay the fiddler. She has what she has coming to her.
Omg, that’s teresa now??? LOL. She looks older than dirt! That’s what a lifetime of drinking and doping will do to you. Looks like she doesn’t have any teeth now, either! Guess JB Bryant and Boyd White aren’t buying her booze and dope now, she’s moved on to someone else. And poor old Dewey Canada is left taking care of the kid! Talk about karma!! I’m sitting here laughing my butt off!!!
