Patricia Carolyn Singleton Pruitt

Patricia Carolyn Singleton Pruitt, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in Corbin, KY.

Patricia was a 1965 Brodhead High School graduate and a lifelong member of Providence Church of Christ in Brodhead, KY. She was a member of the Singleton family of West Street in Brodhead. Many people her age will remember spending lots of fun days at the West Street house with the Singleton siblings.

Patricia retired from the State of Kentucky, where she worked as a Food Stamp and Medicaid case worker. She spent her time after retirement helping take care of her grandchildren and running the roads in her car, which she loved to do. She was a loving mother and grandmother and would do anything for her children and grandchildren.

Patricia is preceded in death by, her parents, Mary Elizabeth Craig Singleton McWhorter and Herman Allen Singleton; her stepfather, John Ed McWhorter; three brothers, Gervis Craig Singleton, Ronnie Herman Singleton, and Bobby Ray Singleton; one sister, Brenda Karen Singleton McMullin; two brothers-in-law, Paul Croley and Jimmy Parsons; one nephew, Daniel Craig Croley; and one great-nephew, Christopher Singleton.

Patricia is survived by, her daughter, Mickie Pruitt Gibbs and son-in-law Eric Gibbs of Corbin, KY; her son, Freddie Ray Pruitt Jr and daughter-in-law Lisa Pruitt of Owensboro, KY; four grandchildren, Bailee Elizabeth Gibbs, Barrett Paul Gibbs, Preston Cole Pruitt, and Carter Peyton Pruitt; two sisters, Anna Evelyn Singleton Croley of Dayton, OH and Janice Sue Singleton Parsons of Lexington, KY; two sisters-in-law, Carol Cruise Singleton of Louisville, KY and Carol Wells Singleton of London, KY; and one brother-in-law, Dwaine McMullin, of Eubank, KY. She is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews; fourteen great-nieces and great-nephews; one great-great niece; and one great-great nephew; and special friend and caregiver, Betty Brimm.

Visitation will be at Providence Church of Christ in Brodhead, KY on Sunday, June 4, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM with the funeral at 4:00 PM, also at Providence. The burial will be immediately after at Piney Grove Cemetery in Brodhead, KY.

Pallbearers are Craig Singleton, Allen Singleton, Michael (Scotty) Moore, Adam Singleton, Blaine Croley, and Jack Singleton. Services will be conducted by Patrick and Chris Craig.
