Corbin Schools Superintendent gets two-year contract extension
The Corbin Board of Education and Superintendent Ed McNeil have reached an agreement to extend his contract for an additional two years.
At Tuesday’s board meeting, the board unanimously approved a motion offering McNeil an extension through 2017 and McNeil accepted the offer. McNeil’s current contract is scheduled to expire at the end of 2015.
Board Chair Kim Croley said McNeil has many assets but one of the things he is best at is leading the school system through construction/renovation projects such as the recently completed project at Corbin High School.
With the school system just beginning the work to construct a new middle school, it is best if McNeil remains as superintendent.
McNeil, who has served as superintendent at Corbin, said he continues to enjoy going to work every day and he doesn’t forsee that changing in the near future. As long as he continues to enjoy the job and is able to do the job, he said he wants to continue.
