Colegrove selected as tri-county Leader of the Year

Michael Colegrove, Vice President of Student Affairs at the University of the Cumberlands, has been selected as the Tri-County Leader of the Year.
A University of the Cumberlands vice-president and U.S. Army veteran has been selected as Leadership Tri-County’s Leader of the Year.
Dr. Michael B. Colegrove, Vice-President for Students Services at the University of the Cumberlands and Director of Leadership Studies, has been selected for the honor.
"I am highly honored and humbled to be selected by Leadership Tri-County as their Leader of the Year," Colegrove said.
Leadership Tri-County is a non-profit organization established in 1987 as an educational program designed to identify potential, emerging, and current leaders from Knox, Laurel and Whitley counties and to nurture their continued development into the leaders our area needs now and in the future.
Colegrove spent 30 years in the Army Reserves before retiring at the rank of colonel in 2003.
University of the Cumberlands for nearly 40 years and has served as vice-president for student services since 1990.
In 2004, Colegrove published his first book, "Climbing the Pyramid: The How-To’s of Leadership." The book came about because of the need for a textbook for a leadership seminar required by the university.
Colegrove will be honored during Leadership Tri-County’s Leader of the Year Banquet, which will be held on Feb. 23 at the Corbin Technology Center.
There will be a reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by a dinner at 6 p.m.
During the banquet, there will be a memorial tribute to former Knox County Attorney Charley Greene Dixon who died last year.
Individual tickets for the event are $20 each.
Gold level sponsorship is available for $1,000 and includes eight dinner tickets and a full-page ad in the program.
Silver level sponsorship is also available and includes four dinner tickets and a half-page ad in the program.
