PUBLIC NOTICE:
Public inspection of the voting equipment to be utilized in the May 16th, 2023, Primary Election in Whitley County (including the absentee equipment) will be held on April 25th, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. in the Election department of the Whitley County Clerk’s office. (KRS 117.165)
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the complete rehabilitation of the North Corbin Water Storage Tank together with all related work as specified will be received by the City Utilities Commission at its offices at 1515 Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin, KY 40701 until 2:00 pm (local time) on Friday May 5, 2023, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.
General Contractors (Prospective Bidders) Note Pre-qualification Requirements:
The Corbin City Utilities Commission is requiring all prospective bidders to be pre-qualified to bid this project. Pre-qualification requirements only apply to General Contractors. Pre-qualification requirements and forms can be obtained at the following address:

Upon review of the above requested information and after a determination that the prospective bidder is satisfactory to the City Utilities Commission, the prospective bidder will be approved to submit a bid for the project. Any bid submitted by a contractor that is not prequalified by the City Utilities Commission will not be accepted.
The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, consisting of Advertisement for Bids, Information for Bidders, Bid, Bid Bond, Agreement, General Conditions, Supplemental General Conditions, Payment Bond, Performance Bond, Notice of Award, Notice to Proceed, Change Order, Drawings, Specifications and any Addenda, may be examined at the following location:

Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained at the office of JMT, 109 South 24th Street, Middlesboro, KY 40965, upon a non-refundable payment of $100.00 per set.
Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or a certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid to insure the execution of the contract for which the bid is made. In case the bid is not accepted, the check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder, but if the bid is accepted and the bidder shall refuse or neglect to enter into a contract with the City Utilities Commission within ten (10) days after the time he has been notified of the acceptance of his bid, the said check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City Utilities Commission as liquidated damages for the failure to do so.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after closing time scheduled for the receipt of bids.
The City Utilities Commission reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any and all bids.
Award of the Contract will be made to the lowest, responsive, responsible Bidder.

NOTICE OF BOND RELEASE
In accordance with KRS 350.093, notice is hereby given that American Highwall Mining, LLC, 212 Kendall Avenue, Chilhowie, Virginia 24319 has applied for Phase I Bond Release on Increment Nos. 3 of Permit Number 918-0434, which was last issued on February 23, 2022. Increment No. 3 covers an area of approximately 22.0 acres located 1.2 miles east of the junction of the Jack’s Fork Road and KY Rt. 26 & 1.0 miles Southeast of Rockholds in Whitley County.
The permit is approximately 0.1 miles south of Helton Hollow. The latitude is 36° 48’ 28”. The longitude is 84° 06’ 15”.
The bond now in effect for Increment No. 3 of Permit Number 918-0434 is a Cash Bond and Certificate of Deposit in the total amount of fifty-five thousand dollars ($55,000.00), which sixty (60%) of the bond at fifty thousand dollars ($55,000.00), is being requested for release.
Reclamation work performed on Increment No. 3 includes: backfilling, final grading and seeding completed in June 2019.
Written comments, objections, and requests for a public hearing or informal conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Field Services, 300 Sower Blvd. 2nd Floor, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601, by May 26, 2023.
A public hearing on the application has been scheduled for May 30, 2033 at 9:00a.m. at the Department for Natural Resource’s Middlesboro Regional Office located at 1804 Cumberland Ave., Middlesboro, Kentucky 40965. The hearing will be canceled if no request for a hearing or informal conference is received by May 26, 2023.
