The reunion will be held Friday, April 28, and extend through Sunday, April 30.
Starting on Friday, April 28, the Golden Family will meet at the Williamsburg Tourism Center from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The meeting will be the sharing of genealogy information, photos, and family stories, etc. A copy machine will be available to share copies of your history with others.
On Saturday, April 29, the family will gather at Golden’s Creek starting at 8:30 a.m., on the original Stephen Golden first settlement site and his resting place on Golden Creek. Shortly before noon the family will gather for a group picture followed by a pot luck meal.
Afterwards, several talented musicians will be on hand to play and sing. Plan to come have some fun with the Golden family cousins! Bring food to share, a lawn chair and a musical instrument to join in the celebration. Saturday’s day will end when the last person departs.
Donations are welcome and any money collected from an auction will go towards taking care of the cost for the Friday night event, cemetery upkeep and the cost to print the newsletter and stamps for the newsletters mailing.
On Sunday, April 30, there will be a breakfast buffer for everyone spending the night at the Hampton Inn from 6 – 10 a.m. Anyone, who is not in a hurry and would like to help with the set-up of Joshua Goldens’ grave marker at the Wells Cemetery can come by there by 1 p.m.
The descendants of the Golden’s Family go all the way back to the year of 1725, and includes many families scattered throughout the United States, including Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Indiana, Illinois, and Texas.
