UPDATED: State Police say investigation of WCHS principal now involves juvenile

Very little is known about the investigation into suspended Whitley County High School Principal Alan Sweet that was first reported by the News Journal last week, except that Kentucky State Police are now involved and at least a portion of what is being investigated deals with a juvenile.
"We are investigating allegations that have to do with a juvenile. Due to the evidentiary aspects of the case, I can’t say much more," KSP Trooper Lloyd Cochran, public affairs officer at the London post, said Tuesday afternoon.

I went to school while sweet was there and he is the reason i graduated. Sweet never crossed boundries and was such a great help. I believe this is such bogus and not true.
Jean ValJean, You are an idiot!!! He is not being investigated for being a pedophile. He has been in the education system for over 25 years. He is an upstanding man of integrity that is being screwed over by people at the board with power.

I go to Whitley and you would be surprised that it was a rumor long before they investigated it
Someone please get the feds involved in on this because two or three girls made a complaint around 2/3 weeks ago and they got called liers and pushed away like they were tell lies how can things get over looked when a child is involved it is our place to protect our kids

Sounds to me like the board just wanted his job. They are willing to do whatever it takes to publicly humiliate him. Obviously, he has done nothing. They purposefully made ambiguous press releases to destroy his name so that they can do what they want. Mr. Allen Sweet would never do any of the things that he has been falsely accused of. I hope the board of education pays for what they have done. There is a special place in HELL for those involved in this public humiliation.
They have no evidence that Sweet really did anything or not yet…So why not find out before you bash him…If he really did it then bash away…But it’s untellin…
The thing people don’t understand in this county and possibly in every other county is that if you have money or your last name is a big name then you’re okay and nothings going to happen. BUT if you are someone whos last name means nothing to anyone then you are a bad guy. I am personally not saying he has something wrong because he has a last name or because he is a principal because I have met this man before and he is very sweet. BUT what I am saying is some of the people you least expect to do something are the ones to do it. Just keep that in mind.
Wish everyone would not run their mouth till they know for sure! Alan Sweet is a very sweet person and would do anything to help a student out! Personally myself I loved Mr.Sweet when I was a student at WCHS!
i have known Alan Sweet for around 30 years. He was a son in law to a neighbor of mine on Gordon Hill in Corbin and both my kids love him. I’ll never believe he was inapproiate with a student or any child. I think there are some personal matters at the Board of Education and they want rid of him. He’s kind and a good man and students like to gossip as well as grown ups. If charges are brought I will believe he was framed.
No matter where you go or work there may be people that like to take advantage of people,not saying Mr.Sweet did anything wrong, just we need to teach our kids to tell someone if they think or know something is wrong and not be afraid. I have never known him to do anything out of the way to any student,not saying he couldn’t have either,but we need to make sure our kids can speak up.
If it was anyone else the police would break there necks to inform people of what a man did to a kid…this is so stupid that they haven’t told anyone yet! I graduated from there in 2011 and I used to think he was a great principal
The only reason most of the people did not like mr. Sweet is because he was all ways trying to do what was best for the students. These “students” are mad and just saying things about him because he was hard on them before graduation. I have know mr. Sweet since I was in the 6th grade when I first came to this town he is no “perv” he is a wonderful teacher and principal.

Definantly a perv and most likely did fool around with a juvenile! I’m sure if it’s only one that there is plenty more who aren’t talking that he has fooled around with as well. I graduated in 2013 and I assure you my child will never go to whitley. He’s not the only one there harassing kids. Look at the registered sex offenders list and there is one working there when I graduated!! Whitley County is a joke!

Actually before when he was a teacher he was accused a couple of times of harrasing girls. He never got in trouble though because he bribed people. He is known to be a perv
@francis anderson, I can assure you that your granddaughter is not in harms way. I don’t know what he is being investigated for, but I do know that he is very nice and very helpful with the students, and he would in no way put the students in danger. I can say this because I just graduated from there recently, and have had dealings with him with different situations. So please, be rest assured that she will be fine.
