Police investigating ‘armed robbery’ at Gray Grab and Go Market
Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith is reporting that on Wednesday the Grab and Go Market, also known as the Crossroads Market, located at the Junction of US 25E and KY 233 in the Gray community of Knox County was robbed.
Deputy Drew Wilson was notified by the Knox County Dispatch at 9:59 PM. Deputy Wilson, who was patrolling in the area was only two minutes away when he received the call, quickly responded to the scene.
After interviewing store employees, Deputy Wilson learned that a white male wearing an orange ski mask over his face and dressed in gray sweat shirt and pants entered the market and demanded money. The employees complied with the robber’s demands. The robber fled the market on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.
The employees did not see a weapon but believed the robber had one concealed inside his shirt. No one was injured during the robbery.
Deputy Wilson was assisted at the scene by Knox County Deputies Keith Liford and Curtis Corey, KSP Troopers Sammy Faris and K-9 Officer Dallas Eubanks, KVE Officer Wendell Hunter and Corbin PD Officer LT Rick Baker.
The investigation is continuing by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
