Cumberlands to host Mel Robbins for Excellence in Leadership Series
Entrepreneur, international bestselling author and motivational speaker Mel Robbins will be the keynote speaker for this year’s University of the Cumberlands’ Excellence in Leadership Series, which is sponsored by The Forcht Group of Kentucky.
The event will be held on Cumberlands’ campus on Thursday, March 30, at 7 p.m. in the O. Wayne Rollins Center. All are welcome to attend. Tickets are free and offered on a first-come, first-served basis and may be requested at https://ucumberlands.edu/tickets starting Feb. 28.
Robbins will be talking about how to completely change your life in five seconds, the underestimated importance of high-fives, and will have more life-changing, research-backed information you didn’t know you absolutely needed, according to a UC release.
“We are pleased to welcome Mel Robbins onto campus this spring to share her unique experiences and motivational insights,” said Dr. Larry L. Cockrum, Cumberlands President. “She is a dynamic speaker who demonstrates positive leadership by dedicating herself to helping others improve their lives. We are a university focused on empowering students and community members, and Mel knows how to do just that.”
UC’s annual lecture series is made possible by an endowment from local business owners Dr. Terry and Mrs. Marion Forcht, who founded The Forcht Group of Kentucky Center for Excellence in Leadership in 2006.
The purpose of the Center is to provide programs and activities that enhance the development of leadership, character and good citizenship. Other past speakers in the series have included Roy Moore, Zell Miller, Stephen Covey, Ben Stein, Karl Rove, Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani, Charles Krauthammer, Dr. Ben Carson, Fred Thompson, Dr. William “Will” Franklin Graham IV (the grandson of world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham), Shaquille O’Neal, Terry Bradshaw, Laila Ali and Drew Brees.
