KLC presents liability grant to City of Williamsburg
The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) recently presented the City of Williamsburg with a 2022 liability grant.
KLC members receive the money to help fund various programs and services that reduce liability and make the community safer. KLC has awarded more than $5.5 million in liability and safety grants since 1999.
Williamsburg Mayor Roddy Harrison said that the city will receive about $820 through the grant, which will require a 50 percent local match.
He said the funding will be used to get some equipment to help maintain safety and cleanliness of local parks and to replace some bleachers.
“We appreciate the Kentucky League of Cities presenting this grant to the City of Williamsburg,” said Harrison, who is also a KLC Board of Directors member.
KLC Insurance Services is Kentucky’s largest municipal insurance program. The agency helps members increase public safety with proactive programs and services. KLC insurance also provides affordable liability, property, workers’ compensation, and other municipal insurance products.
In addition to insurance, the Kentucky League of Cities offers employee benefits programs, legislative advocacy, financial and municipal law services, training, community development, and other resources that serve cities.
“City officials take great pride in serving the people who call their community home,” KLC Executive Director/CEO James D. Chaney said. “KLC is honored to help the City of Williamsburg by providing funds that allow city leaders to ensure that children in the community have a safe place to play.”
