WCHS student raises $700 for W’burg Shop with a Cop program
Thanks to the enterprising efforts of a local teenager, some less fortunate children are going to have a better Christmas this holiday season.

Williamsburg Mayor Roddy Harrison helps HayLee Baird draw out the names of the three winners from her raffle of Yeti tumblers. The raffle generate $700, which Baird donated to the Williamsburg Police Department Shop with a Cop program.
For the second consecutive year, HayLee Baird, 14, who is a freshman at Whitley County High School, made a significant donation to the Williamsburg Police Department’s Shop with a Cop program.
On Oct. 4, she went to Williamsburg City Hall where she turned in $700, which she raised for the Shop with a Cop program via the raffle of three 20-ounce Yeti Rambler tumblers. She sold chances on the tumblers during this year’s Old Fashioned Trading Days.
“I do it because the Shop with a Cop program helped me when I was three, and I just want to give back to the community,” Baird said.

This year’s winners were Brandon Woods, Carrie Powers and Joy Hall.
“The City of Williamsburg and the Williamsburg Police Department would like to thank Miss HayLee Baird for her hard work in collecting $700 for our 2022 Shop with a Cop Program! This young lady loves her community and it shows through her hard work. Again, Thank You HayLee!” the City of Williamsburg wrote on its Facebook page.
Last year, Baird raised $1,000 for Shop with a Cop through fundraisers that included raffling two Yeti tumblers, which she also sold chances on during Old Fashioned Trading Days.
The raffle was the only fundraiser that Baird did this year, but she has a meeting scheduled with Williamsburg Police Chief Jason Caddell to try and get some more ideas for next year.
