County Wide releasing first new single in nearly two years
County Wide, who have made a name for themselves over the years as one of Southeastern Kentucky’s most popular country-rock bands, are excited to be releasing their first all-new single since 2020.
The song, titled “Fool Speed,” will be featured on their upcoming new album, Stand Your Ground, which will be available later this year. Front man Aron Bunch said the song was inspired by youthful mistakes.
“It’s kind of about understanding that, when you’re young, you’re stupid,” Bunch said. “You go through things, and you figure stuff out along the way. It’s all about figuring out life, but with a funny twist.”
Bunch said that the band has been working on new material for the past couple of years, and after COVID-19 threw off everyone’s plans in 2020 and 2021, they are excited to finally be releasing new songs again.
“We appreciate the fans, and we are glad to be able to come out with some new music again,” said bassist Anthony Campbell, adding that this will be only the first of several new songs that County Wide will be debuting in the coming months.
“The only reason that we get to do what we do is because of the fans,” added Evan Crawford, who is the newest band member, playing keyboard and guitar, and contributing vocals.
Bunch, Campbell and Crawford, along with fellow bandmates Steven Standifer (guitar) and Travis Clem (drums) invite fans to pre-order Fool Speed on iTunes and Spotify ahead of its release across all platforms on Friday, July 22.
A music video will also be released online sometime after the song’s official debut.
As for where folks can see County Wide perform live, information about their scheduled performances are available via their official Facebook page, or at www.countywideband.com. They have been announced to appear at the 2022 NIBROC Festival in Downtown Corbin on Saturday, Aug. 13.
