Corbin Rotary Club installs new leadership
On Thursday, the Corbin Rotary Club installed its new lead officers for the 2022-23 term.
Replacing outgoing President Stephen Vaughn will be Chase Hail, a Market Development Representative with Saint Joseph Health Systems. Moving up to fill Hail’s former role as Vice President will be Mallory Davis, State Farm Agent in Corbin.
“I have a lot of respect for Chase,” Vaughn said at Thursday’s Rotary luncheon, held at David’s Steakhouse, before presenting the club with their new President. “He is as fine of young man as you’ll ever meet. He is as honest as the day is long, and I think of him just like he is one of my kids.”
“I appreciate all that Steve has done for me,” Hail said after taking the podium. “He has been a great mentor for me so far in life and business, and everything else.”
Hail went on to give a brief address that included a challenge for current Rotary Club members to be on the lookout for potential new recruits. He also said that he appreciates the Rotary Club for helping him to understand what “service before self” truly means, and he looks forward to also instilling those values into his firstborn child, which he and his wife are expecting to arrive in November.
Davis said of the Rotary Club, “I love what we are able to do for the community. I have been around Rotary my whole life. I have always been involved in the service aspect of it, helping with events from behind the scenes.”
Davis, whose father and fellow State Farm Agent, Mike Sparks, has served as a longtime member of the Corbin Rotary Club, said that she has enjoyed having the opportunity to serve on the club’s scholarship committee in the past, as well as being able to contribute to the yearly Empty Stocking Fund charity event that benefits needy families during the holidays.
Davis encouraged anyone interested in joining the Corbin Rotary Club to attend one of their weekly lunch meetings, held every Thursday at noon at David’s. She also mentioned that additional information is available via the club’s official Facebook page.
