Vehicle enforcement officer among the injured in Corbin bypass crash
A Kentucky State Police – Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officer was injured in a collision with another vehicle on the Corbin bypass Wednesday afternoon.
According to KSP-Vehicle Enforcement Officer Steve Douglas, Officer Wendell Hunter and the driver of the 2001 Honda Odyssey van, 27-year-old Amanda Smith-Ball of Annville, were both treated for minor injuries and released from Baptist Health Corbin.
Douglas stated that the wreck occurred in the “S” curves of the bypass in Knox County.
Officer Hunter was reportedly westbound when he clocked a speeding vehicle travelling east.
Hunter slowed and pulled onto the shoulder to make U-turn when he collided with Ball’s van.
