Whitley begins long road stretch; Corbin and W’burg face district matchups vs. South
The Whitley County Lady Colonels will begin a seven-game string of road games with a trip to Jenkins Friday night.
“Road games will help prepare us for post-season,” said Coach Sean Pigman. “For us each day, practice, game is another chance to get better, learn and compete. We are still learning what we can be and these next few games on the road should help us to figure it out.”
The Lady Colonels were back in action Tuesday night seeking to end a two-game losing streak.
“We are just excited to get back and compete again,” Pigman said. “It has been a while. We have been having good practices. We are learning to compete all the time which is a good sign.”
Corbin Lady Redhounds
The Corbin Lady Redhounds will begin their second long homestand Thursday night when they host Pineville in the first of five home games.
Corbin will continue at home Saturday against Elizabethtown.
The Lady Redhounds will face South Laurel on Tuesday.
Corbin is coming off a 67-63 win last Tuesday night at Whitley County.
Shelby Stewart led the Lady Redhounds with 23 points.
Kallie Housley added 16 and Darcie Anderson had 11.
Corbin continued on the road Tuesday night at South Laurel.
Williamsburg Lady Jackets
The Williamsburg Lady Jackets picked up a much-needed win Monday night, defeating visiting Wellspring Guardians out of Richmond, 58-21.
The Lady Jackets picked up a win Saturday against Burgin following a COVID–19 cancellation.
Williamsburg got the win based on the team’s respective RPI. Williamsburg’s RPI is. 40780 compared to Burgin’s .35550.
The Lady Jackets will host South Laurel Friday night and then travel to Oneida Baptist Institute on Saturday.
Tipoff Saturday is set for 3:30 p.m.
Williamsburg will host Whitley County Tuesday.
