Jeanette Yvonne Bush
Jeanette Yvonne Bush, age 73, of South Second Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky was called to her heavenly home and received everlasting peace on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Jeanette was born on March 24, 1948 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
She was the daughter to her loving mother Louise Haun and was blessed to be raised by her aunt and uncle Maude and Fred Ray. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jeanette attended the Williamsburg Colored School which later integrated to Williamsburg City School. After graduating High School, Jeanette furthered her education and graduated from Sue Bennett College in London, Kentucky and the University of The Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. At an early age Jeanette attended South Second Street Church of God and was also a member of the gospel singing group The Spiritual Charmers. Jeanette worked for 17 years for the Housing Authority, as well as a former employee at Williamsburg Community Development, Lion Uniform and her last place of employment was Goodwill.
Jeanette was an amazing and loving person, she was loved and cherished by her loving relatives and close friends. Even though she didn’t have any birth children, but she had three Godchildren that she cherished dearly. Nona (Sissy Lou) Smoot-Williams of Mooresville, North Carolina, Jason Mays of Erlanger, Kentucky and Jas’Anah Mays of Erlanger, Kentucky who called her grandma; special cousins, Thelma Amos and Mary Alice Haun; and a host of generational cousins who loved her dearly; as well as her devoted friends.
Jeanette cherished her family and each person in her life. In later years Jeanette attended Elm Street Baptist Church, Williamsburg, Kentucky and First Baptist Church of Jellico, Tennessee under the leadership of Rev. Gerald Littlejohn.
Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Croley Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, December 4, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Littlejohn officiating. Following the service she will be laid to rest in the Croley Addition of Highland Park Cemetery in Williamsburg.
