Alvin Hendricks Walters
Alvin Hendricks Walters, 76, of Williamsburg, KY. departed this life on November 28, 2021 at his home.
He was born to the late Kenneth and Jeanette (Lamb) Walters on August 15, 1945 in Jellico, TN. He is also preceded in death by aunt, Ruth Jones, and uncle, Sterling Jones, mother-in-law, Bonnie Huddleston, and son-in-law, Mark Lafferty.
He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the Calvary as a Chief door gunner on a Huey helicopter Crew receiving two Bronze Stars.
He was past Post Commander of V.F.W. Post 3167 in Williamsburg. He was also a member of American Legion Post 88 and the Williamsburg Masonic Lodge 490 F & AM. He retired from CSX Railroad with over 37 years of service.
Alvin is survived by his children Christina Tucker (Chris) of Winfield, TN., Amy Walters of Williamsburg, KY., Alvin Walters II (Janelle) of Jellico, TN., and Travis Walters of Hopkinsville, KY.; six grandchildren, Aidan Lafferty, Griffin Lafferty, Mason Lafferty, Tara Kidd, Britton Davis-Walters and Blake Walters; wife of over 23 year, Doris Walters of Williamsburg, KY.; sister, Janice Gregory of Atlanta; and other siblings, Jimmy Branam, Marcella Stockton, J.W. Branam, and Jenny Mae Sharp.
Memorial service will be Sunday, December 5, at 2:00 pm at the Jellico Cemetery with Rev. Billy Carpenter officiating. Military honors will be done following the memorial service.
