Santa announces Newsy’s upcoming arrival at the News Journal

Dear boys and girls of the Tri-County area,
First let me say, Merry Christmas! Ho, Ho, Ho! It is my favorite time of the year.
I am excited to tell you about a surprise I have in store for your area.
Please let this serve as my official announcement that my elf, Newsy, will be reporting for duty at the News Journal on Dec. 1.
Newsy is a special elf and a vital team member here at NP Headquarters, a.k.a North Pole.
He works as one of my lead reporters in the Department of the Lists. Yes, that is right. I am talking about those lists.
Each year Newsy helps me decide which areas make the Naughty or the Nice lists.
For several years, Newsy has asked to visit some of my favorite areas and truly experience everything communities have to offer before he helps me determine which list the area should be on that season.
For Newsy’s first on the ground reporting experience, I have contacted the News Journal to seek help with accommodations and an office space for Newsy.
The team at the News Journal has graciously agreed to play host to one of my favorite elves this holiday season.
While at the News Journal, Newsy will ride along with one of the reporters to cover stories, meet community members, visit local tourist attractions and more!
Each week he will send a written report to me here at NP Headquarters. Newsy asked if he could publish the report in the News Journal so that you will know how the area is ranking on the Naughty or Nice list.
Check out the News Journal’s print issues, website and social media for Newsy’s content.
Because Newsy is so used to working in the Department of the Lists, he loves receiving and reading letters. I have tasked him with collecting the letters from area children intended for the North Pole.
Please drop off your letter to me at the News Journal, and Newsy will make sure they arrive well before our Dec. 22 toy making deadline!
Since Newsy has never left the North Pole before, he wants to meet as many new people as he can.
Stop by the News Journal’s office on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to check out Newsy’s office and receive a sweet treat from Mr. Claus!
Newsy will close his office on Dec. 22 to start packing up for his return trip to NP Headquarters on Dec. 24 with me.
Ho, Ho, Ho! I am so excited for this holiday season! I know that Newsy will enjoy his time in your community. I am confident that the Tri-County area will make the Nice list, but make sure you are doing your part to ensure the community’s success!
I will see you soon!
Merry Christmas,
Santa Claus
