Col. Clyde Hardin Johnson
Col. Clyde Hardin Johnson (Ret. US ARMY), age 78, of Wofford Cemetery Road, Williamsburg departed this life surrounded by family on November 15, 2021 at his home. He was born to the late Warren Johnson and Odene (Mays) Johnson on January 6, 1943 in Williamsburg, KY.
He is also preceded in death by brother, Charles Ray Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law William H. and Mary Reynolds.
He was a veteran in the US ARMY and Kentucky National Guard combined service of over 37 years.
He was a member of Wofford Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge 490 F&AM. He was a Kentucky Colonel and he retired from the employment office of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
He is survived by wife of over 57 years, Clara (Reynolds) Johnson; daughters, Connie Johnson-Sampson of Stearns, KY, Courtni Johnson of Williamsburg, KY, and special daughter, Tracy Bunch of Williamsburg, KY; six grandchildren, Jaden Johnson, Kaden Johnson, Clyde Hayden Johnson all of Williamsburg, KY, David Alan Sampson of Stearns, KY, Courtni Anne Sampson-Paul (Jacob) of Rockholds, and Jerry Payten Fernald of North Carolina; sister, Wanda Sue Sears of Williamsburg, KY, brother, Carl Dale Johnson (Pauline) of Williamsburg, KY; brother-in-law, Vernon Reynolds (Debbie); sister-in-laws, Randa Johnson and Mary Powers all of Williamsburg, KY; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 17, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Bobby Joe Bunch, Rev. Paul Rhodes and Bro. Vernon Reynolds officiating.
He will be laid to rest at the Wofford Cemetery following the funeral service with military honors by the American Legion Post 88.
