New COVID testing option, physician order not required

Those in need of a COVID–19 test now have another local option as Baptist Health Corbin is now offering a testing site where no physician order is required.

The new site is located in the Trillium Center Circle Parking Lot past the hospital.

It is open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. seven days a week.

While patients do not have to have a physician’s order, hospital officials said an appointment is required.

Appointments may be made by calling (606) 526-4820.

When the individual arrives, the technician will come out to the vehicle to perform the test.

The results will be available within 24 to 48 hours.

In order to see the results, the patient will need to set up a MyChart account at https://mychart.baptisthealth.com.

Officials said Baptist Health Corbin will continue to offer testing by a physician’s order in the circle at the rear of the hospital.
